Three cozy and comfortable cabins nestled in the woods on the bank of the Autrain River and next to the Hiawatha Forest. It will feel like you have returned to a simpler time.
Open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The cabins are well separated for privacy and come with everything you need for your vacation.
Wind down (or keep the good times rollin’) when you get off of the river. Our resort is right down the road and makes for a cozy and comfortable backwoods stay.
Cabin#2 The Loon Overview
Cabin #2 The Loon is nestled on a small hillside overlooking the Au Train river. It’s the perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying the northwoods after a day of adventure. Enjoy fishing and swimming or some of the other activities available in the area. There are several nearby waterfalls to visit or back roads and trails for biking and hiking.

Riverview Cottages & Resort is a full service resort offering 2/3 lodging options in a one bedroom, generous living room comfortable cabin on the AuTrain River in AuTrain, MI near the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and Grand Island in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Just a mile down the road is Lake Superior, quite the best beach offering hours of outdoor activities. Plus, if you’re lucky enough it’s a great spot to view the Northern lights.
Just a few steps when you walk out Cabin #2- The Loon, takes you to the dock on the AuTrain River where you can enjoy fishing, swimming, and canoeing/kayaking. At the end of your evening enjoy a private fire pit for roasting marshmallows or cooking hot dogs. Included with your stay you can reserve your 17' Marathon aluminum canoe or kayak for a leisure float only use on the AuTrain River. Any Riverview canoe or kayak reserved is the guest responsibility to return back to the property.
The kitchen has full-sized appliances, a microwave, coffee maker, dishes, and cooking utensils. The family room has a TV with DVD/VCR. As you walk out the back door there is deck complete with grill, outdoor table, and chairs for enjoying the beauty of the Hiawatha National Forest.

Please note at this time there is no Wi-Fi on property. Get out and enjoy nature!
AuTrain River Canoe & Kayaks livery operates on a far portion of the property from 9am - 6pm at peak times and 10am-5pm during non peak times.
